Celebrate Culture and Community at the Keiki Hula Festival at Lahaina Cannery

LAHAINA, MAUI – The spirit of aloha and tradition comes alive once again as the Annual Keiki Hula Festival returns to Lahaina Cannery on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This beloved, free family-friendly event brings together the island’s youngest hula dancers, live Hawaiian music, and cultural activities for a joyful day rooted in heritage.
A Celebration of Keiki Talent
The festival kicks off with a warm welcome and hula lesson led by Kanuihele, followed by enchanting performances from three talented keiki hālau (youth hula groups):
- 11:40 a.m. – ‘Aumakua Maui
- 12:30 p.m. – Hālau Na Lei ‘A‘ala O Ku‘u Aloha
- 1:20 p.m. – Hālau O Ke Ola Aliiokekai
The afternoon wraps with live music by Kaniala Masoe at 2:10 p.m., bringing lively island rhythms to cap off the celebration.
Cultural Crafts & Keiki Activities
Throughout the event, families can take part in hands-on cultural experiences, including:
- Lei making
- Coconut weaving
- Create-and-take keiki crafts
These engaging activities provide children with the chance to connect with Hawaiian traditions in a meaningful and fun way.
