New Maui Hotel

Plans are in the works for a new 150 room hotel to be built at Kahului Harbor.  The hotel is to be part of the Pagoda Collection which includes the famous Pagoda hotel of Honolulu amongst others. 

The hotel will be built next door to the existing Maui Beach hotel, where the Maui Palms used to be.  The developer of the new hotel says they plan on naming it after the 1950s Maui Palms hotel. 

Meetings for permitting are still being held but the developer says he expects construction to begin within the next 18 months.  A nightly stay at the hotel will be less than $175 making it one of the cheaper hotels on Maui.
