Section 8 Waiting List Opens

Housing Vouchers Waiting List Will Open

For the first time in a decade the waiting list for The Hawaii Public Housing Authority’s housing voucher program will open up.  Opening up this housing program is aimed at addressing Hawaii’s homelessness problem.  The list will open up through an online portal system on Aug. 16 and close on Aug 20.  The Housing Authority expects to recive upwards of 10,000 applicants during this short 2 day period.  The vouchers will be awarded to those displaced families facing the greatest challenges.
