Tasaka Guri Guri Reopens To Long Lines

If you grew up on Maui, or have lived here for a long time then you have surely had a cup of delicious and creamy Guri Guri from Tasaka Guri Guri in the Maui Mall in Kahului. Due to the pandemic, the store initially closed for two weeks in mid-March. After two weeks, however, the owners announced that the closure would extend indefinitely, much to the dismay of local patrons.
Luckily for us, the closure was a chance for the owners to take care of much needed renovations and reinvent the Maui Mall storefront. On Monday, Tasaka Guri Guri reopened their doors to a huge line of patrons who had been waiting for months to satisfy their Guri Guri craving. Some of the improvements to the storefront include fresh paint, new countertops, new flooring and brand new signage out front. One thing that hasn’t changed is the secret family recipe that keeps us coming back again and again.
The new store hours are 10am to 4pm daily, and you can either call in your order for pickup, or you can walk into the store. Keep in mind that only one customer is allowed into the store at a time and a mask must be worn.
Cindy Tasaka Ing was overwhelmed at the show of support, and had this to say, “We did not anticipate how busy it would be reopening yesterday We ran out of our local quarts, but we will work hard to restock for each day. We would like to thank our loyal customers for their continued support.”
