Market Update
The County of Maui purchased 267 acres of land including the easement to the famous surf spot, "Jaws." The Sugar East Subdivision known as Peahi in Haiku includes the access easement to the lookout at Jaws.
The county plans to use this land as a nature preserve and for organic farming. There are still questions remaining about public access to this area for sporting events but the council felt strongly about this $9.5 million purchase.
There has been a lot of community support in favor of organic farming and this is a great place to start.
