Maui Junk Vehicle Disposal

Vehicle Disposal Assistance

Starting yesterday Maui residents will be able to dispose of one vehicle a year at no cost to them.  The junk vehicle disposal program is made possible through the cooperation of Maui County and the Department of Environmental Management.

Vehicles taken to the permitted metal facility in Puunene will need to be registered as permanently junked.

The program was developed as a way for residents to legally and safely dispose of their unwanted vehicles in an attempt to reduce the number of abandoned cars on the road.

The program is funded through some of the fees that vehicle owners pay in registration annually.
