Market Update
Maui's Research and Technology Park located in central Kihei is currently home to 20 high tech professional service companies. Together they employ approximately 400 people. There are 5 state of the art lab and office buildings where these companies operate.
The Maui Research and Development Park has been on the drawing board for nearly 25 years. It was created to help diversify our local economy, adding technology jobs and encouraging start-up companies, so that we may become less reliant on the tourism and agricultural industries.
The park is home to cutting edge companies like Boeing, Pacific Defense Solutions and Oceanit. Through these companies and more an estimated $150 million flows through the park and projects each year.
Currently only 10% of the park is developed. The master plan is nearly complete and will utilize the full 400 acres dedicated to the Research and Technology Park.
