Market Update
Hawaii will be awarded $7.5M in federal funding for emergency preparation and Homeland security from the US Department of Homeland Security. This money will aid our state in preventing and responding to natural disasters, terrorism and any other emergencies we may face.
A portion of the funds will be from the DHS Emergency Management Performance Program which will be to aid in preparing for natural disasters.
The other portion of the federal funds will be from the DHS State Homeland Security Program which helps emergency planners respond to and recover from acts of terrorism and any other catastrophic events.
Hilo Harbor will also be receiving $337.5K from DHS Port Security to increase harbor security.
