Pros & Cons of Real Estate:
Over the long-term, real estate investors gain considerable leverage on their capital because of things like appreciation, tax benefits and rental income. The downside to real estate investing is that it takes a considerable amount of money to put a down payment on a property and secure financing. Also, the money invested on that property is not liquid, meaning if you need to sell and recoup the money, it could take time and leave you susceptible to losses.
Pros & Cons of the Stock Market:
The stock market requires knowledge and commitment, but the barrier of entry is low, and you can get started even with a small amount of capital. Another advantage of stocks is that they are extremely liquid and can be easily bought and sold as you see changes in the market. The disadvantage of stocks is that they can be highly volatile depending on which industries you are investing in and how often you or others are moving their money around.
