Market Update
Last week Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island erupted. Since then 35 structures and 26 homes have been destroyed by the lava outbreaks in the East Rift Zone. The USGS reported 500 earthquakes have occurred in the area.
The latest report, as of 11:20 am today says that volcanic activity at all 12 fissures has paused and residents of the evacuated areas may return to get personal items. Authorities say the lava has covered 104 acres in total. New Fissures and evacuations are anticipated to happen again.
On Maui we are not affected by any of the volcanic activity taking place on the Big Island and the air quality here has not been comprised. We hope everyone on the Big Island is safe and can return to their homes quickly with minimal damage.

P.S. - Maui's first large scale solar project came online on May 5th in South Maui. 11.3 acres of land managed by Haleakala ranch behind the Maui Research and Technology Park, above the Piilani Highway is now providing renewable energy to the island. The solar project is a partnership between Maui Electric and Kenyon Energy.
