Market Update
Since the beginning of the year, buyer activity has continued to grow stronger and stronger. The combination of low interest rates on new mortgages, the ability to travel more freely, and sparse inventory are creating the ideal environment to continue Maui's v-shaped recovery. Just by taking a look at the chart below, you can see that pending sales are exponentially higher than they were at this same time last year.
Active listings across the island have dipped to below 1,000 and as more properties go pending over the following weeks, that number is likely to continue dropping. Take a look at the second graph below to see buyer activity broken up by district.

P.S. In Lahaina, Segway Maui has been supplying Maui residents with the latest in personal electric transportation for 10 years. In a statement given to Maui Now, the retailer said that they have plans to introduce a brand-new line of electric vehicles as part of their anniversary celebration. As electric cars are becoming a more common sight around Maui, Segway is counting on more people getting excited about personal transportation as well, like scooters and electric motorcycles.
