Market Update
We're exactly one month into 2011 and things have definitely started off with a bang. It feels like activity is up from where it was a year ago today. In an attempt to get a bird's eye view on Maui real estate, this week we analyzed single family home sales in January 2010 and January 2011. Here's what we found when we compared the two:

The above analysis didn't make any of us cry out "eureka." One thing it reinforced though is our belief that the current inventory of homes on Maui is selling significantly faster than last year—in fact over 50% faster. See average days on market compared above. February could be a different story, but we believe the trend will continue in the same direction. Next week we'll share an analysis of condo sales.
