Market Update
With recent wild swings in the stock market, and growing evidence that many previously hot real estate markets have topped out, many people are asking:
- Is it a good time to sell?
- Should I wait before buying a new, second, or vacation home?
- Will there be another real estate crash?
There are so many variables affecting the answers to questions 1 and 2, that I cannot give a definitive answer. It depends so much on your individual situation. Should you be considering buying or selling, I would be more than happy to discuss the pros and cons with you. Ultimately, though, each one of you will have to decide what is best for you.
As for the question of another real estate crash, I've done a fair amount of reading on the subject, and the consensus opinion, is no. We will not have another real estate crash according to most experts. Most real estate markets are expected to moderate in 2018 and 2019, and there is growing evidence of this happening already.
During the last 5 years, I have flipped a number of properties for my own personal account. I am still finding some opportunities to buy; however, it is becoming increasingly difficult because of other cash rich investors competing in a very limited area of the market. As my margins are getting squeezed, I am looking in to other alternative forms of investment such as hard money loans. If you are in need of such a loan, please contact me directly.
