Market Update
One of the questions, I am frequently asked is, "Where is the best place to live on Maui?"
I love that question, because Maui is so diverse that it offers something for almost every taste. There is no simple answer, and often one's employment or whether it will be a principal residence, second home, or vacation property will dictate where the ideal place to live will be.
I could write many pages describing the pros and cons of each area. For example, Haiku is one of the wetter spots on the Island with average rainfall between 75 and 120 inches per year. For those who love to garden, it is a horticulturist's dream come true.
If you like it very dry and warm, then the Kihei/Wailea or Lahaina areas would be more up your alley. Like something in between, then you might enjoy the Upcountry areas of Makawao, Pukalani, or Kula.
Bottom line, you can find almost exactly what you want. I've liked here since 1981, and have an intimate knowledge of the Island, so I would love to help you locate the ideal place to suit your lifestyle and budget.
