Application Deadline Approaching for Kahului Residency Area Grants
Central Maui residents and local community groups have a key opportunity to secure direct financial support for neighborhood projects.
Applications for $150,000 in Kahului residency area grant funds included in Maui County's Fiscal Year 2027 budget are due by October 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Announced by Kahului Councilmember Kauanoe Batangan, these grant funds are designed to uplift Central Maui neighborhoods from the ground up.
"These funds give our community an opportunity to support projects that support local families and improve the quality of life in Kahului," Councilmember Batangan shared in his announcement.
What to Know About the Grant Funding
- Available Funds: $150,000 total allocated in the County’s FY2027 budget specifically for the Kahului residency area.
- Eligible Projects: Community organizations and local applicants seeking to launch initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods, improve local quality of life, and address identified community needs.
- Processing Timeline: Applications take approximately four weeks to process, so submitting early is highly encouraged.

- Submit Online: Complete and submit your proposal through the Maui County Office of Economic Development (OED) Submission Manager. Refer to the OED Grant Handbook for complete parameters and required documentation.
