If there is one thing you have likely heard throughout 2020 and into 2021 it’s that interest rates on mortgages are historically low. But what does that mean exactly? Over the last 10 years, the workforce in the US has become increasingly more remote. Na Hale O Maui has been working since 2012 to realize their dream of creating a permanently affordable workforce housing project in West Maui. The project is called Kahoma, and as of this month it is officially complete after years of challenges and obstacles to overcome.

Virtually every holiday and event on Maui has been affected in some way by the COVID-19 pandemic. In years past, Halloween was full of family friendly events as well as a huge party on Lahaina’s Front Street. Sadly, this year all of the events that typically draw huge crowds like the annual Front Street Halloween Party will be cancelled to align with social distancing protocols.
